my old phone dying , want replace smartphone. use prepaid plan , not use phone much. travel europe twice year , able use phone when there. know need unlocked phone.
should used iphone 3gs or new $150 prepaid smartphone such lg optimus one, samsung galaxy gio or similar phone?
how reliable 3gs?

the difficulty of unlock going rely on few thing. 1 of them hardware version. far gone 3gs, units produced first year of production "easy" ones. matters ios version running. if happens on 5.1, have no shot, currently, of unlocking, due fact there no jailbreak out yet. if go prepaid, may issue (i don;t know, never looked it). make sure phones unlocked, or carrier @ least willing unlock, if happen take prepaid route.
