Cannot connect to iCloud email using LTE (Verizon)

i've got full bars, lte, safari loads fast, speed tests show 20mb down , up.

oddly, when load mail app, hangs , doesn't update or load (the progress circle keeps going , going). when switch on wifi, icloud emails work , load fine.

experiencing same? tried turning icloud on/off, etc.

 

this must verizon. have iphone 4s on at&t , emails work great on 3g network. when turn on hotspot functionality on ipad , connect iphone it, same situation happens means somewhere on verizon network behaving oddly.
