Audio/Mic range

hello,

have question , idea, i'm not sure how go it. imac situated far on desk. prefer monitor farther away me. however, of imac plug in headphones and/or mic. there device can use allow me plug in headphones/mic into? extension of sorts?

if it's actual device, know if it'd possible/practical, attach underneath desk, side, or leave on top of desk. have suggestions or similar set ups?
