Volume control program (Start up Chime) question

many have used program linked below lower chime level @ start on macmini, have question regarding program if 1 wants increase chime level again, cannot find way it.

1. used program increase sound level....did not work

2. uninstalled program...no go

3. complete reformat , reinstall of lion..nothing worked

still sound level low. suggestions fella's

have tried turning speaker volume before restarting?
