so i'm trying upgrade memory in imac bought in 2011, before last refresh. seems there 4 memory slots, standard build unit apple comes 2 slots full (2x2gb). best way upgrade memory? i'm thinking want double @ least, i'm not sure how proceed since first time upgrading mac lineup. hear it's pretty simple upgrade memory. picking brand best, , configuration little daunting appreciated. thanks!

best way add additional 2 x 4gb make total of 12gb. thats enough things want , not wasting/removing existing ram....see here: http://www.crucial.com/store/mpartspecs.aspx?mtbpoid=ceb1acf0a5ca7304 $45.99 upgrade simple , not void warranty, remove 2 screws on flap @ bottom , insert memory.
