lot of video editing, visual effects , photos using dslr. ps, premiere pro, ae, lr. first time building raid drive macpro...
currently, have on 1tb , purchased 2, 3 tb seagate baracuda drives , wondering best options , ways go setting raid.
3 of 4 slots full @ moment... forth. if looked online tutorials regarding set up... many mixed views on it.
there editors/ graphic artists able tell me best route is?

i ask, raid quite complicated (the details not matter, they're absolutely critical).
fundamentally, comes in 2 flavors; software , hardware based implementations. software of course cheaper, it's riddled compromises burn @ point (matter of when, not if).
hardware otoh, far more robust software implementations (faster too, when exceed drive count possible off of main board's drive connectors), but pay it. if you're earning living system, right way go.
seem interested in, software raid, highly recommend spend time researching (start wiki's raid pages, including reading on levels - click links). come here in mr , search raid threads.
take fair bit of time, you'll pick massive amount of useful information should avoid mistakes (i've typed volumes on of already, i'm not going redo of here).
btw, raid not replacement proper backup system, no matter implementation. things can still go wrong, , user error creates total disasters (complete data loss). still need backup of kind that's suitable specific circumstances.
