MS Word - Selecting Cell Contents

hello all,

hope can explain properly. applies creating tables in ms word.

in windows, can place cursor inside table cell clicking anywhere inside cell in question.

in osx, however, mouse clicking selects cell outline instead of placing cursor inside it. can move cell using keyboard arrows.
have tried using modifier keys when clicking, such alt, control, etc, result same: keep selecting full cell outline (not contents) , can not cursor inside content area.

have looked through settings, cannot see applies.

assuming description makes sense, know doing wrong?

click once select cell, click again place cursor inside cell modify text. (assuming questioning asking).
