Isolate System from ANY External Access

working snow leopard 10.6. purchased 1 year ago.

basically, wish prevent network interface being active , accessing system in form.

have not , never connect internet or form of network machine. have other computers that. mac function purely kind of isolated writing device should never able receive signals device—apple or 3rd party.

despite having airport card removed last sep @ apple store (genius bar), i'm still experiencing unusual behaviour—the same before removed.

example, while writing on lower part of screen/page, line of text deleted higher screen. can not stop happening trackpad or using force quit. have wait stop. way retrieve deleted portion command z. has happened in text edit , writing software. have installed 1 new program--the writing software. else is.

happened 3 separate times. time, writing kept in text editor deleted number of files when came use data. files moved around screen.

cursor starts moving , clicking on other parts of page , lose control of during time. have activity monitor open can't see change during time.

recently, trying delete bluetooth , airport applications when lost control , not files rubbish. when tried delete them (changing preferences in finder secure delete—which overrides programs running), not let me, though i've done on earlier installs easily.

things change in system preferences:
turned apple firewall on. refused incoming connections.
disabled infrared receiver
turned off network connections.
removed blued/airport programs , components core services. removed ip6, vpn, ppoe etc files.

removed lot of other files relating network activity. despite that, still same behaviour before removing network card , these files.

i've tried installing osx several times. nothing , work , see happens , same when removing components. either way, still same losing control of system. don't run itunes, no movies, no music, nothing. writing. activity monitor shows new processes starting , stopping while i'm writing--i leave open see. click on process quck quits before examine it. has happened several times.

bothering me as, technically, should not accessible.

did fresh install of osx yesterday , opened system preferences, network, immediately, , got message identifying new firewire interface, system froze, went normal , no device showed up.

possible 3rd party device can interacting system? if so, how identify , prevent working. devices located? time did not have computer in possession few days when lending colleague last year.

kind of interface might enable this? how know?

on activity monitor, on fresh install, after removal of cards, shows network sending 1 kb packets every couple of minutes or so. when blocked ntpd showed error messages in console. figured normal, don't know.

i've been through /usr/sbin etc folders , /private folders, i'm not technical enough know remove other obvious network related files.

i'm wondering if there possibly usb/phone chip inside or other hardware addition?

installed little snitch today. saw usual ntpd-wrapper trying send address.

in way can block incoming , outgoing interfaces? or kaspersky's security software in windows, , in way has operating system firewall shows application activity in networked environment—is there mac equivalent?

want shutdown access. used kaspersky in windows this. there way of doing beyond installed mac software it's not effective.

observed lot of mac users believe it's not necessary worry security beyond pre-installed firewall, believe we're entitled privacy , ensure work not disappear, deleted or altered while i'm working on it—especially parts can't see. because it's writing, it's important not changed. don't have time go , check every word see if it's been edited without knowledge or, worse, deleted.

i'm not technical @ all, looks there lot of security holes if know you're doing. i'm hoping knowledge might share how shut them down, beyond standard attempted.

thank much.

if don't have ethernet cable attached , turn airport off, cannot connect network. period.
that wasn't necessary. turning airport off prevents access wireless networks.
that's because symptoms describe have nothing mac being accessed outside party.
absolutely not.

first, haven't said model mac you're using. help. issues described have nothing access 3rd party or device , attempts cripple network capabilities pointless. start saying year , model mac you're using , problems can diagnosed.
