i bought 27" mac 2 weeks ago. leap of faith after many loyal years ms. utterly disappointed not hp lap top 1.5gb of ram quicker , efficient £1500 imac purchased. apple have been great, has said. customer service astonishing, , if doesn't resolve, it's being changed. on advice, because use bit specific, in need heavy editing software , running, said maybe should grade ram. did begrudgingly, 1 expect says on box, it's going do. happy say, @ stage, seem running faster. have 2 questions. 1 - imac habitually slow unit, , freezes often? spinning beach ball well, noticed on other forums people have said common.
2 - when took bottom plate off mac reveal ram slots, dusty. have had computer 2 weeks, it's dust free in office. suspect computer not brand new, else concur?
i can't answer dust question, can tell 27 inch imac gets beach ball until fill ram, mac beach ball. why ram upgrade did trick. no, wouldn't imac habitually slow, loading more software ram can handle. switched mac because pc seemed habitually slow 4 gb , freeze time...my imac gives me beach ball once in blue moon, , freezes less.
