turning on filevault 2 encryption under lion, rewrites whole disk. when erase , reformat disk unencrypted, nothing recoverable without disk encryption key.
if go sell air, want erase/reformat disk , clean install of os x using recovery media came air. (you don't want install lion have enter appleid , password that.)
