Pro Photog getting into Video

my day job starting more , more requests videos going investing in video equipment , software in near future. have few questions, regarding fcp x.

have been using fcp 7 @ old job on daily basis minidv cameras. @ new job, need buy software , not sure if fcp x right me.

video done on 5dii (95%) , 7d, possibly minidv cams if needed.

1. read fcp x has built in stabilization? need render every time make cut? how applied? filter? how effective it? know lots of dslr video quite shaky, if effective might worth switch alone.

2. how fcp x play 5dii files? should still transcoding streamclip?

3. experienced fcp7 editor, able jump right in, or there learning curve?

---------non-fcp x questions---------

-does have experience magic lantern? interested in focus-peaking capabilities.

-lights. there light-kits suitable doing interview style videos of 1 person had under $1k? realistic? not know continuous lights, brand new me.

answers!

just continue fcp 7. started new position , created producer/editor role in mr firm. made them buy fcs3. still has tons of life left in , additional software included $1000 nothing.

yes there steep learning curve x. nle's have worked same decades , fcp x shats on convention.

never used ml shoot 7d , can't magic lanterned.

there plenty of 3 stage light kits under $1000. go big or go home long aren't going crazy these should work decently.
