Pre-Order vs Buying at Apple or BestBuy Store

is better pre order or buy @ local store? i'm hesitant pre-order because, if new ipad ordered , wouldn't on mar 16th , find @ best buy on day. of lucky ones have placed pre-order did confirmation note delivery date mar 16th? i'd hear feedback , past experience.

 

i prefer apple store there no confusion.
