[noob alert!] Fit an SSD to my 2011 iMac-What about the OS?

hi gurus!

i'm happy imac, having replaced hdd in w7 laptop ssd, i'm tempted same imac.

found guide ( http://www.windows7hacker.com/index...c-os-x-lion-virtual-machine-inside-windows-7/ ) , install seems "ok", question os.

once i've added ssd it, presumably want install lion on , use boot drive, 1tb drive being used storage drive?

how install it?

have buy bootable lion flash drive, install on ssd , format 1tb drive?

in advance help/advice.

 

make lion recovery disk , use format ssd , clean install of mac os x 10.7 lion.
