Need advice with an up grade

i need advice have done grade leopard snow leopard , lion. have mac pro running up-to-date leopard though have disk grade snow leopard never did because system worked fine. reason gain access icloud use other apple products. hesitation have multiple programs use daily use , expensive grade use icloud. these related photography cs4, portrait professional, lightroom, colormunki, , hp photo printer no longer make photosmart b8850. can enlighten me problems have if grade os?

 

what machine specs? have i7 mbp brought lion have new version of xcode. other that, liked sl better lion. don't use of icloud features - haven't found icloud can't better other product.

have older c2d imac, 2.5g ram, have left running sl because have read articles made me afraid lion not run small amount of ram.
