Just got my Verizon new iPad, activated vs per paid?

i got new ipad @ best buy today, , sales guy asked me if wanted "activate" ipad.

told me if activated ipad (and monthly bill) have better coverage because uses cell towers , better , more coverage pre paid plan.

states there differences in plane prices too. quoted $30/3 gig activated , $20/1gig ore paid.


true? googling , couldn't find

 

i wondering along these same lines-

got mine apple, mean cannot add 1gb $10 when go over?

can take verizon , have them "activate" it?
