it took me weeks of research figure out how decode yet secretive secrets of apple. there perfect way of deleting emails @ once without jailbreaking iphone or ipad...and here is:
open inbox>>edit >> check/select top message, highlight move button >>press , hold move button , uncheck message had checked earlier >> lift fingers off ipad screen , leave alone. wait until messages pile on right hand portion of screen (in ipad). iphone give actual number of emails has selected action. waiting command moved @ once. >> choose trash delete of them or other folder u want move them, 1 piece. remember replicate action on server u move them or delete them on server , not ipad.
once have moved messages trash can either leave them there scheduled cleaning or empty right away doing this: go trash folder , click edit. delete button shows @ bottom of screen. hit it! r done!
if not see effects of actions on server make sure have enabled email accounts such actions.
tips:
1. please give enough time (could take upto several minutes depending number of emails moved) emails selected move. screen become unresponsive while emails being packaged. once emails ready, in ipad, see them zoomed out on right hand side of screen, , in iphone see message showing actual number of messages have been selected.
2. avoid purging large number of emails, mail app might freeze or crash. if inbox has thousands of emails change sync settings in mail settings fill lesser number of emails in inbox
well know, more point ever tried deleting email address no longer wish keep.
