Battery drain during sleep

hi,

new ipad 4g battery drains 10% while sleeping overnight.

location services turned off, mobile data off, mail fetch , push off, fetch set manually, icloud inactive, thing on wifi.

on test, if turn on airplane mode , turned off wifi, drained 1% overnight.

why wifi take battery life during sleep if has been turned off?

 

how strong wi-fi signal? there have been reports of issues wi-fi on new ipads. mine drops 1% overnight regardless of whether wi-fi on or off.
