Activity Monitor, Process called "AntiVirus" hogging my memory.

so imac started bogging today, have memory geek let on desktop showing memories being maxed out. checked activity monitor , shows process called "antivirus" using half of cpu, virus? or process osx has? can restart computer, , automatically use available ram, , continue chugging on cpu. sits parent process launchd_1 it's using 130 mb of ram. should concerned?

it sounds have antivirus app installed, don't need. don't need 3rd party antivirus app keep mac malware-free. macs not immune malware, no true viruses exist in wild can run on mac os x, , there never have been since released 10 years ago. cannot infect mac visiting website, unzipping file, opening email attachment or joining network. malware in wild can affect mac os x handful of trojans, cannot infect mac unless actively install them, , can avoided basic education, common sense , care in software install. also, mac os x snow leopard , lion have anti-malware protection built in, further reducing need 3rd party antivirus apps.
select process in activity monitor , quit or force quit it. remove app. effective method complete app removal manual deletion:
