install snow leopard exterior usb hdd prepare installs before placing seagate momentus in mbp. work on mbp cannot take time switch , want new install existing(10.5.8) 4yrs old.
possible?
have tried though panic error?
is panic happening during install or after install, when booting usb drive?
personally, haven't installed usb drive, have made bootable copy of hdd on usb drive using ccc, , worked ... freakin' slow, worked.
route took when upgrading sl lion because, you, if didn't work needed quick restore. idea use ccc image restore sl if lion didn't work out. far lion working out me pretty well, haven't had try out restore process. but, said, image did boot no problem, gave me warm fuzzy had reliable road sl if needed.
