i don't need retina display (whatever resolution be), need high resolution screen have on current mbp (early 2011). i'm photographer, , use canon. far can't find better program canon digital photo professional process photos (ie. adjust color temp, exposure compensation, style, noise canceling, etc). unfortunate enough, software available on windows, have use vmware run windows in order photos processed. , in order that, need lot of memory (i hate rebooting boot camp process few hundred photos , reboot back). hope there 4 memory slots available on new mbp can 16gb of memory @ cheaper price.
optical drive 1 of useless things never use on macbook pro, kingsington lock. wondering. if rid of odd, replace reject key with?
however, see audio in port in new macbook pro 15. port, can output whatever things input macbook through same speaker. that's awesome.
want gigabyte ethernet port there well. wireless network fast, yes, not fast wired connection. if want read whatever things on nas server, need fast. don't wanna wait half hour play 10min 1080p video.
ivy bridge, sure thing, no doubt that. better graphics? nvidia cuz many of video format converter use cuda accelerate process, , many games optimized nvidia. amd good, not nvidia.
usb 3.0? pfffft. haven't got single device compatible usb 3.0 yet.
dual hard drive, reasonable.
, please don't bump price. it's expensive.

new mbp going either same last or going different. no matter what
if choose go new going dramatic , different.whenever apple changes going keep while. planning take out optical , either make new macbook slimmer or add battery.
me personally, want that. take out optical , give me battery lost lasting time without needing charger.
