iTunes Match - converting from WAV to 256kbps

after long, long, long time decided delete of songs in itunes , re-download them via itunes match. 1 of these people swore , down not rid of wav files , settle 256kbps version. listening tracks , seem fine me. have grown older find myself not listening music as used to, listen more podcasts these days, figured free 500gb of space , condense music collection down drastically.

besides, else have on sunday other re-download 10,000 songs!!!

haha, love fiddling around technology.

else here on fence of this? going wav aac?

ps know there has been chatter on net of apple perhaps going lossless encoding in itunes store, sure neat if did upgrade down road itune match.

i find amusing people demand lossless encoding , don't have audio equipment reproduce it.

way when disk space not plentiful now, went , played different mp3 encoding options. @ 128k didn't sound (even on ear buds use ipod) cds did. settled on "160k variable max" - past limit of equipment (including ears).

disk space plentiful, aac 256k more enough. , if isn't? still have cd collection generate lossless files from.

cd made lossless encodings cd use test audio equipment , speakers in stores.
