iphone 4 fall on water and battery is damaged

hello
iphone falled on water , wasn't turning on.
dryed best could, bought batter on ebay , replaced.
started ok, batter didn't charged.
i'm not sure if it's battery fault or iphone.
should test , how repair (if repairable...)
thinking in buy external battery not sure if might work way external batterys charge internal battery , don't give power iphone standalone.

advice.

 

i doubt it's battery that's damaged.
multiple things shorted out.
i'd bring apple , pay replacement fee.
