i have iphone 3gs ios version 5.1. 2 days ago changed iphone battery , weird stuff has happening since. battery percentage jump 98% 92%, , 87% 82%, , after rebooted phone , went 86 or 87%, , after minutes of usage jump 82% again. , weird thing last night when charge iphone battery percentage when 28%, reboots , battery percentage shoot 57%! , morning while listening music on iphone, turn off around 90%, after iphone still can turned on. , now, drained iphone battery until dead, plug charger , maybe after 10 20 minutes shoot around 50%, , right before eyes, battery percentage jump , down while it's charging, jumped 88 92 , 88 , 92 again in around less 2 seconds. happened because of faulty battery? or because of os? tried reseting settings , restored iphone, not seem fix it.
well, have guess it's battery. have 3gs too, , have changed battery more once. found batteries sold on ebay 'oem' have capacity; same original , same batteries ifixit sells (and same batteries ifixit sells). found remaining capacity reported circuitry of these batteries can spotty. didn't experience jumps in percentage extreme describe it, did have discharge in jumps of 4-5%, , odd spontaneous reboot. need pay attention part number, or apn (616-0435 latest believe), , lemon. seller. ifixit , chinese sellers not difficult that; send new 1 - no need send faulty one. problem have take phone apart entirely again.
anyway, ended putting original battery after found out had 80 cycles on (i got mine used), , haven't had problems since.
