Browsing SSL sites on public wifi networks?

when i'm on public network browsing https websites, can see data i'm sending , receiving? examples include starbucks, password-protected wifi networks know password. when can others don't administer router access data, , can administer see?

in theory can "see" data, since it's encrypted won't able make sense of it. ideally , people in control of website you're looking @ can see cleartext... assuming you're working valid certificate.
