Should I upgrade my iMac 2007 Core 2 Duo 2.8 to Lion?

yesterday, replaced imac 2007 core 2 duo 2.8ghz hard disk after broke, installed snow leopard 10.6 , upgraded 10.6.8.

have imac 2011 quad core 3.4ghz 16gb of ram, when first brought it, came sl 10.6.7, when lion came up, upgraded it, after upgrade, thing don't slower shut down speed, else seems fine, safari seems faster.

here dilemma, imac 2007 has 4gb of ram, heard lion need minimum of 4gb of ram, if install on imac 2007, experience slower performance? or should stick 10.6.8?

i put lion on 2010 macbook air 2gb of ram , runs flawlessly, because of solid state drive, however, 4gb's should absolutely fine. other comes down if want take plunge , go lion or stay sl.
