i trying figure out onsite backup strategy using above nas.
have macbook pro 250gb, upgrade shortly new model 500gb - considering putting 2x 1tb in synology in raid 1 format. partitioning drives down middle , using 1 partition superduper type clone , other time machine backups - mirrored across 2 drives.
critical things backing things photos , family home movies, music , usual personal documents etc, important still. use cloud type service offsite.
set make sense needs? thanks.
opinion, using synology 2-bay nas clone , tm backup 1 machine waste of money since nas can many more features won't using. i'd couple of 2tb external drives if want make clones , tm backups 1 machine.
