New iPad - WiFi or 3G/4G?

coming 1st gen ipad , curious....i have been using 3g/4g mifi current ipad. travel tier 1 cities , don't have issues getting solid connection. picked wifi ipad morning wondering if should have gone 3g/4g. don't pay mifi have pay service on ipad.
