classic mode install on G4 iMac

hello,

have g4 imac can not boot os 9.
have read can run classic mode in os x.

have 10.4 installed.
have 10.1 , 9.2 recovery disk came imac.

how classic mode if can't install os 9?

must missing something...

i installed classic mode on aluminum powerbook dragging os 9.2.2 system folder cd hard drive running tiger. don't know if recovery discs have system folder handily available that, though.
