iPad <--audio/MIDI --> DAW?

anybody doing this? if how? right now, have camera connection kit, usb-to-midi cable, , 1/8" stereo jack going i/o ports on sound card. seems bit bulky lot of converting going on.

cool connect ipad straight usb , have show in logic pro send/receive midi , audio...

 

that's lot. here , way wouldn't have lag.
