WiFi Problems

hi,

iphone 3gs 16gb connects wifi networks without problems. however, doesn't connect homenetwork, denyes before asking password. roommate has iphone 4 connects without problem! do!?

 

is network 802.11n only? 3gs doesn't support n while 4 does.
