iMac over MBP?

im looking @ getting mbp when update hits. video editing in final cut x , web design in photoshop, illustrator , dreamweaver , i'm wondering if getting $1500 quad-core 21.5" imac me out more on $1500 dual core mbp. having portability, i'm willing compromise if necessary.
think should do?

depending on how use these programs (im assuming alot) go imac, since said willing compromise. 2 additional cores make large difference on dual core hyper threading.
