figured i'd share story.
had 17" mbp, 2.3ghz proc , anti glare screen. superdrive died, , sent in repairs.
came back, turned on in store test out. click click. dead hard drive.
apple store in area couldn't hard drives in weeks reason, after 2 weeks, resent repair facility. came today, , turned on, worked fine. leave when shutdown , turned on again. click click. hard drive died again.
because of how long ended waiting in total (just on 3 weeks), , after mentioning today first day of school me, , offered brand new laptop. 1 had in store ag display new 2.5ghz upgraded version, upgraded harddrive.

however, day before, had purchased 27" imac, , had planned on selling mbp when came recoupe costs. debating selling brand new mbp , returning imac.
either way, things worked out quite nicely! pay apple when comes them taking care of customers.
yep, seems if go in there enough @ point help. had mb in hdd dying, or getting diagnostics, replaced whole screen bezel , palm rest plastics since had cracked bunch opening/closing. made brand new laptop afterwards. think total cost have been around $200.
