iMovie 11 Audio Equalizer doesn't really work??

when select clip, inspect it, , select audio , custom equalizer, when slide of sliders way down bottom, should not soundtrack of clip silent?

doesn't work way. sound gets muted everything, including voices, still audible.

have clip want eliminate voices. tried adjusting down sliders in human voice audio range , still there. tried adjusting them down , voices (and of background noise) still there, quieter.

gives? thanks.

 

select clip, clip menu>mute clip. should work.
