some months ago, somehow deleted factory profile imac display.
unable calibrate display - when try, dialogue box:
cannot calibrate display
factory profile display not found.
have searched around on web - seems recurring problem. have tried number of more obvious fixes:
- repaired permissions
- searched (and found) display profiles elsewhere on system, , moved them profiles folder(s)
- reset pram
- restarted imac
- had @ plistedit pro; think fix pointing preferences @ display profile, however, looks mess system software easily, haven't yet used it.
- checked os installation cds/dvds can't locate suitable looking profile.
suggestions?
isn't major problem - have number of save profiles can choose - but, lot of photography, recalibrate display 2-3 times year, in case display (or eyes) have 'aged'.
clever fixes (like plistedit pro) , i'll need detailed instrustions ....
not sure sending me factory profile work (but might) - seems once link colorsync factory profile broken, can't reset?
guess re-installing lion fix going hassle ....?
thanks,
larry

you won't need send apple.
either or app deleted file/changed permissions or hdd/sdd losing bits , corrupting file
app use calibrate display?
right click, info, , find file on hdd, , click "show folder contents" , should find file in app bundle, or in same folder. if dosen't work, see if can app show opened files , paths, should lead in right direction.
google friend.

library/colorsync/profiles/displays
names may have changed slightly, thread few years old. it's still same os , file layout mac os x versions.
try bottom solution first, btw.
