hey guys,
have question. want able sleep screen (which initiates screensaver) when temporarily away computer, don't want close lid/put computer sleep (i.e. want music continue playing, files continue copying/downloading, etc). have read to:
1. launch “keychain access” application located in /applications/utilities.
2. choose “show status in menu bar” view menu.
3. click on lock icon , select "lock screen" (press ctrl+shift+⏏ [eject])
problem is: make enter password when wake/"unsleep" computer also, right? or "lock screen" function work indepently other password-protected actions/features? don't want forced enter passowrd when login or wake computer. don't have password on mac , don't want/need one; logic is: if sleeping computer, more alone in house , don't have paranoia/security issues. if ever have need lock screen, more mean around people, , step away momentarily---but want privacy of preventing others seeing what's on screen.
since not have password set, assume have go user preferences , set/change passowrd first. question is: can lock screen (and require password upon unlock) without requiring password wake sleep and/or boot os? if go into: system preferences>security>general> , uncheck "require password after sleep or screen saver begins", screen lock function still promt me password independently of "sleep" requiring password when awake laptop?
hope have explained correctly understand trying accomplish here.
thanks!
