as many have noticed, 3rd party cases magnetic cover lock/unlock working new ipad 3, , others not. here why...
and, @ cupertino must having either laughs or fits this... or both.
location of magnetic sensor on bezel of ipad 3 identical of ipad 2. many, quite surprised when slid new ipad 3 nice italian leather case, , of sudden, lock/unlock worked it's predecesor didn't work more.
initially, forum posts on issue, thought had moved location of sensor, took small magnet ipad directly locate - , found it, right should have been , was.
but... magnets have north pole , south pole, , accident, found out 1 of these activate feature on ipad 3, whereas both on ipad 2!!
had make razor incision near magnet in case, take out, , flip over. works charm... except minor surgical scar...
let suppliers know solution can modify manufacturing processes insert magnet in proper polarity.

i read datasheet hall effect sensor(im guessing thats using) , datasheet on sensor gave information on "issue". 1 pole pull sensor low while other pole pull high there problem , solution above...
