Nested Applications folders in iMac

i've found nested applications folders on new imac running 10.6.8.
there 3 levels: applications>applications>applications.

none of these aliases!

nested folder went trash (with contents), , emptied trash. middle folder (one level down main apps folder) go trash not empty trash - neither of items in it, not 1 @ time. "the operation can’t completed because unexpected error occurred (error code -8003)."

i've repaired permissions , verified startup disk.

please.

you should have 1 folder apps, , that's /applications folder. have in /applications/applications folder?

you can't empty trash or move file trash
solving trash problems
can't move files trash
