itunes to receiver wirelessly...

hello all,
i'm looking devise means of streaming music wirelessly mac receiver. need new receiver, 1 work pair of 901s. want use optical connection, or comparable. know 1 option use airplay. however, i'm not sure if can this. here's why: on 1 wireless network, internet, , don't know how connect 1 airplay internet access , send music speakers. i've heard appletv option. can use appletv without television? seems cost bit more airplay seems better. don't have tv.

so, i'm looking for:
1. suggestions affordable receiver work bose 901s has optical connection (if used airplay), or has hdmi (for use appletv).
2. information airplay/appletv, , ways in these might allow me stream wirelessly.

i'm not looking snarky comments speakers.

some amps (mostly marantz think) have air play built in now, or airport express, can set joins current wired/ wireless network , play music connecting norma wifi use internet (you can set stand alone wireless device)
