folder within a folder in I-photo

hi,

new forum hello all

have mac book pro , starting use i-photo, windows machine have folder of photos within master folder,
i.e.
folders of holidays, cars etc of these in thier own folder , in master folder. when try , put 'master' folder i-photo takes each smaller folder out , puts them in.
there way of putting 1 master folder i-photo instead of lots of smaller folders??

many thanks

hi adrp.

there 2 ways of using iphoto.

first way- let organise storage. gets sucked iphoto , dont worry (or know) is. every photo lives in 1 event. events, have albums, , same photo in multiple albums (just pointer, not copied). porche might stored (and visible) in event "cars" seen in albums "all cars", "holiday 2003", "car accident" etc. make happen "copy items iphoto library" needs ticked in preferences>advanced.

second way -you organise things how want. photos live outside iphoto in original folders. when happens, i'm not 100% how iphoto creates events i'm pretty sure @ folder level, eg each separate subfolder called event in iphoto. make happen "copy items iphoto library" needs unticked in preferences>advanced.

tough know best way go, if have extensive organisation structure. think second way best you, @ least start with. if no other reason later on can change have in 1 place in iphoto, wheres if suck iphoto going lot of work recreate original folder structure.
