Fixing a broken MBP (no noob questions in here)

figured out wrong.

based on asd's hardware results i'm not sure how answer mac store said mbp fried metal/plastic part on cpu causing issues.

additionally i'm interested in why corsair mac branded ram failed asd test...

guys! , if still think of related asd results , ram issue, i'm still checking thread.

got hold of apple service diagnostic 2009 mbp , ran hardware test software (efi) 8gb of corsair ram in computer. here results:






after got error codes assume entirely ram related, swapped 2gb came computer , re-ran test. computer passed. started computer , then.... prompted me shut down , restart.

logic board passed on every test. ram appears thing caused issue, yet can't boot when try , turn on.

next step?
should run apple service diagnostic os on see says?
should ram replaced while can? looks might bad.

osx lion
lion usb , dvd available

uncle's mbp had kernel panic. restarted screen said... restarted , came life 4 or 5 different times (individual panics in 1 day). when wouldn't boot @ all, gave me. i'm supposed save it. i'm underpaid apple man in family.

here's issue. got boot lion usb use disk utility repair drive. said unrepairable , , reformat it.... put in target disk mode since wasn't booting , got of files off. when in target mode mac said disk shot , need backed , reformatted.

here's it's giving me hell. got thing load lion usb again , reformat once (simple/quick way) , tried install. @ "select language" box got kernel panic...... threw in tdm , did secure wipe clean off way. since osx boots little picky thought writing 0s help.

haven't gotten kernel panic since didn't retain connection usb after tried boot , install lion usb. usb stick lit @ first , indicated in use , stopped. had apple logo , pin wheel spinning few minutes , nothing. tried dvd next. loaded language screen again , after clicked arrow move forward dialog box left , hung 15 seconds , cut off.

1. dealing bad logic board? though disk showed errors?

2. can install lion in tdm , avoid installation hickup? fix issue?

3. did change ram in computer 2-3 weeks ago. tested putting old ram in it. when still failing boot. , problem persisted. i'm pretty darn ram fine since can't force in , down unless it's seated properly.

help! appreciate it.

 

can take disk out, put in enclosure , run soak tests on it, able differentiate between mbp logic board , disk drive? otherwise hard see how disentangle 2 cause of errors.
