Am i mad just wanting a Macbook?

hi guys
been using imac year , getting on fine it. old acer 17.5" laptop broke , need portable (which monster sized acer wan't) email , photos , videos.

brother in room next door has been using 2009 white unibody macbook year , i'm jealous of it. it's perfect size @ 13" , perfect weight sitting on lap , browseing etc in short want it.
know second hand maybe track 1 down in uk new kit. i've looked @ macbook pro , tbh alluminum fisnish on model it's £1000.

heart tells me run out , buy , know won't disappointed in aspect of brains screaming @ me £1000 browse web , @ holiday photos! , mad?

have funds though planned savings , know can pick decent laptop £300-400 want won't or feel macbook

macbook pro owners out there had similar dilema when bought machines , have since regreted decision? or more happy spent @ end of day.

know final decision down me , i'm i'm going mac wondering if i'm alone in usual state of indecision

 

wait new macbooks come out, buy discounted refurb. if need surfing , photos, won't need latest , greatest model.
