Question about the mac architech and keyloggers

absolutely noob possible suspicious individuals plug usb on mac literally drag , drop keylogger file onto desktop , have infect computer? or require password no matter what?

i'm planning put @ mac pro in uncles coffee shop , concern of mine when gets busy , may not able attend mac.

 

it require password. way wouldn't if person used security flaw in unpatched system.
