Multiple lines in Terminal.app

hi,

since switching linux wins couple years ago got used using terminal perform common tasks syncing, connecting remote servers, ftp. noticed terminal in osx lion not handle multi-line commands well; not continue on next line, rather overwrites first line. recalling last command makes thinks worse.

did figure out how configure terminal properly?

or, guys use different terminal application together?
