Does anyone's 4S voice-to-text dictation work?

i searched through first few pages of forum didn't find similar threads, thought i'd make new one.

have 4s, , weeks now, voice-to-text dictation text messages, emails, etc. not work. if tap microphone button on keyboard, beep , take in voice (the purple noise meter active while speak), tap "done", purple dots appear split second , disappear, or won't appear @ all. nothing happens.

have stable internet connection , siri works fine, don't know what's going on.

else having problem?

 

mine works until hand covers top of receiver , purple dots disappear. it's though thinks i've decided cancel dictation. hold phone sides , speak.
