Question about syncing contacts and calendar

we set e-mail account (bellsouth) on iphone 4 no problems , it's receiving mail correctly. problem syncing contacts. computer being used iphone 4 has windows live mail mail client not compatible syncing iphone. purchasing copy of outlook solution allow me sync contacts , calendar without changing bellsouth e-mail address that's being used? if that's solution, can copy of outlook @ reasonable price?
