Odd (and irratating) glitch in new iPad Spotlight

when go spotlight on new ipad (3) , type in name of app... absolutely nothing happens. letters appear in search field, page remains totally black- no suggestions @ all.

happens intermittently, , nothing short of complete power recycle fixes it...but again, every 5 or 6 searches.

thoughts? else?

 

mine has been fine happned on iphone 4. sorted out in end though.
