How to disable trackpad?

i have 2009 13'' macbook pro , track pad has stopped working. moves wherever wants. however, when plug in usb mouse, trackpad interferes usb mouse not accurate. went system preferences , didn't see way disable trackpad , wondering should do. in advance. fixed , how cost.

 

i believe in sys prefs under mouse? there box check "disable trackpad when theres mouse connected" im not sure if shows before connect mouse. remember having disabled myself, didnt way, if trackpad faulty suppose better option.
