Basic, low cost remote desktop program??

i planning use mac mini , evocam network cameras home security. main computer mbp, hence using mini run 24/7 handle evocam , recording of cameras.

tuck mini out of way, need make changes , such looking basic remote desktop program allow me in , make changes without having hook monitor, keyboard, etc.

ideas? found "splashtop remote desktop" in app store , @ $7 seems deal, don't want start spending $7 here, $10 there on , on until find right solution. add quick.

suggestions appreciated.

 

screen sharing can help. built mac os x since mac os x 10.5 leopard (2007) , can want do. works me between macs.
