'Muted' with external monitor

hi i'm trying connect mbp external monitor second time in few days seems time, when hook external monitor. gets muted? can't turn on volume @ all? missing here?

 

check system preferences > sound > output or option/alt click sound/volume icon in menu bar , tell us, listed , checked output device.
