i have first-generation macbook (paleolithic era, mid-2006) has served me 6 years.
last weekend, migrated of data new imac. reinstalled osx leopard , snow leopard on ancient macbook, wiping clean. macbook core duo, not core 2 duo, can't run lion.
macbook working again, i'm wondering if there's else can maintain health , wellbeing 6 years.
thinking getting solid state drive prolong usefullness. else in forum put ssd in cheap, old macbook?
serious , humorous suggestions!
yes, have done exact same thing core duo macbook, put small cheap crucial 64gb ssd in, because dont want keep loads of files on there, few songs, , can take everywhere, main computer homebuilt pc, not transportable anywhere.
also, consider upgrading ram, if have not done so, maximum 2gb, because 512mb comes hold lot.
hope helps (btw there no problems installing os on ssd, installing on normal hd)
